On August 11-13, the lodge kicked off a year long celebration of our 75th anniversary by commemorating  our first ordeal at Camp Pellissippi.
On August 13, 1942, members of the Sequoyah Lodge conducted the first ordeal of Pellissippi Lodge. This year Matthew White, Sequoyah Lodge Chief in 2016 and Associate Lodge Adviser, Randy English were in attendance to help us celebrate the 75th anniversary of the event.
The fellowship featured quest games with each of th chapters competing. The activities including the tomahawk throw, skeet and rifle shooting, archery, canoeing, ball toss, corn hole and more.
A special museum was created at the Arthur B. Wood cabin to share our lodge history featuring patches, pictures and documents dating back to the early days of the lodge.
The event was attended by several special guests and sixteen previous lodge chiefs.  Current Region Chief, Harrison Fry, recognized our long term success in serving Scouting in East Tennessee.  Saturday evening featured a history campfire and lodge re-dedication ceremony conducted by Toqua Chapter.
The lodge elected our officers for the 2017-18 lodge year on Sunday morning and everyone departed with a renewed enthusiasm to serve the Great Smoky Mountain Council and the Pellissippi Lodge for many years to come.
