Our 75th anniversary is right around the corner. It will be held on Aug 11th, 12th, and 13th at Camp Pellissippi. Which is super cool because our lodge's first Ordeal ceremony was held on August 12th, 1942. During the weekend you will be able to visit the original ordeal circle that was used in 1942 and see our lodge's history. We are also going to offer many fun activities that include shotgun, rifle, archery, canoeing, and mountain biking. The cost for the weekend is $35, but this includes the cost of a replica sash and neckerchief that will be given to you at registration. This will definitely be an event that you will not want to miss.
But Camp Pellissippi needs our help getting the camp ready for the weekend. So, this Saturday, August 5th, we will be having a work day at Camp Pellissippi. The work will include cleaning up the Winter Lodge, the other buildings, the roads, amphitheater, and campsites for the weekend. If you have a “weed eater” / trimmer (and can use it according to the guidelines) please bring it. Also, any tools that include: rakes, shovels, loppers, and cleaning supplies would be useful too – paper towels, windex, brooms, dust pans etc. Please bring them and join us on the work day at Camp Pellissippi. Come any time between 8AM and 4PM. If you are able to attend please email either myself or Jeff Moser, lodge Advisor, so that we can get a number for lunch. Lunch will be provided!!!
Yours in service,
Pellissippi Lodge Chief
